KD Max Goes Virtual
Virtual Reality is currently one of the hottest technologies to revolutionise the gaming, film, real estate and home furnishings industries.
Kitchen and bathroom design software, KD Max now has the capability for users to create incredible and realistic virtual reality scenes within the latest version of its program. The images are accessible on any device at any time. This KD Max add-on module enables the user to turn a kitchen lay-out into a 360 degree, panoramic 3D experience when accompanied with a virtual reality headset.
Imagine not only presenting a 3D image of a kitchen to a prospective customer, but also giving them the ability to put on a VR Headset and become fully immersed in a 360 degree panoramic view of how it may actually look and feel. Using virtual reality, designers can generate 3D 360 degree panoramic images within KD Max before uploading to a dedicated server that generates a URL link and QR Code.
Simply open the link using a mobile phone and position the mobile into the virtual reality glasses to experience the 3D 360 degree panorama. The interaction between the technology in your mobile device and the KD Max virtual reality scene means that turning your head will result in immediate interaction with the room you are viewing. Drop your head down and you will see the floor or look up to see more of the ceiling. Furthermore, users can move through different rooms using the VR glasses.
Included with the Virtual Reality Module is a laser-measuring tool and iMeasure application. iMeasure is an application for a mobile device that connects via Bluetooth to the specialised KD Max Laser Measuring Tool. It enables designers to input room dimensions simply by selecting the ‘measure’ button on the laser measurer.
