KD Max outshines the competition

 In Case Studies

Fosters Joinery stays one step ahead of the competition with a powerful but cost effective secret weapon.

The established joinery business uses KD Max to create ‘brilliantly rendered’ 3D drawings that help to get projects across the line. The intuitive design tool has transformed the way that Fosters Joinery wins new business.

Affordable design solution

Fosters Joinery, based in Wagga Wagga NSW, has been operating for over 30 years. In the early days, the team would take a brief from a client and simply sketch a 2D pencil drawing before proceeding with the installation.

Today, expectations have changed. Clients want to see detailed drawings of their proposed kitchens, wardrobes or laundries. 2D sketches simply don’t cut it.

“We first started using CAD in the 1990s to keep pace with clients’ demands for better presentation. Then, we switched to another design program but it was extremely expensive for what it offered,” said Craig Hiscock, Fosters Joinery.

“I knew there would be a smarter solution – and it didn’t take me long to find Cabinets by Computer’s KD Max. This software has everything we need to create high quality 3D drawings for clients, at a fraction of the price.”

Since starting with KD Max, not only has Fosters Joinery saved thousands in licensing costs, but it’s also helping the business to win new jobs.

Quality 3D renders impress clients

Craig is confident that KD Max is helping Fosters Joinery win over the competition.

“Once we’ve taken a brief and presented our initial ideas, we go away and design the kitchen in KD Max. It’s our secret weapon – time and again, clients tell us that we’ve won the job because of these drawings,” Craig said.

Craig and his team use KD Max to create photo-realistic images of prospective clients’ ideal kitchens and bathrooms. The images are invaluable in ensuring that everyone is on the same page, and that clients know exactly what they’re getting.

“You can do a 2D drawing for a client with all the detail in the world, but when the job is done they’ll look at it and say, ‘I didn’t think it was going to look like that’. With KD Max, it’s so easy to switch out different elements and manipulate the way something looks.”

“KD Max includes a huge library of designs and accessories, and is so easy to use. It ensures that we get the drawings absolutely right before we start cutting materials and installing the kitchen,” he said.
